Dodo Pizza overview: milestones, locations, numbers

Dodo Pizza is an IT-driven retail company that has set an ambitious goal: to build a global pizza chain based on unorthodox management practices and the principle of radical transparency.
Founded in 2011 in Syktyvkar, Russia.
Founder: Fyodor Ovchinnikov.
Initial investment: around $50,000.
Here’s what it looked like in the beginning:
Syktyvkar is a northern Russian city with a population of about 240,000 citizens.

In 2016, Dodo Pizza became the biggest pizza chain in Russia (in terms of quantity of pizzerias), leaving Domino’s and Papa John’s far behind. Now Dodo Pizza unites 360 pizza shops (corporate and franchise).
In this photo, you see the very first Dodo Pizza shop (the one you already saw above in the first picture on this page, and yes, it’s changed):

The company has become a global pizza chain that already works in 10 countries…
...including the US…

...and China.

We make awesome pizza…

...with the help of the company's own IT system...
...that works in the cloud and can be accessed from any browser.

Our IT team consists of 60 developers, engineers, and analysts who (mostly) work in the company’s Moscow headquarters.

Despite being a private company, Dodo publishes monthly financial reports (on top of supporting this blog).
